Land’s End, a Labyrinth, several Lookouts, a Lake, and Libations!

lands-end-and-moreMeeting Location: Lands End Lookout Visitors Center on Point Lobos Ave. There is a parking lot and we will meet in front of the Vistors Center. This is an A-B (which means we will NOT RETURN to the start point.

Hike Description:

We will begin at the Land’s End Visitors Center. We will then check out Sutro Baths, the newly rebuilt Labrynith, overlook some impressive cliffs, walk on the USS memorial, ooh and aaah at Eagle Point’s lookout and then head to Baker Beach. We will then find Mountain Lake Trail in the Presidio. After than we will visit the Marine Cemetery Vista and Mountain Lake. We will exit at the Arguello Gate and head for Libations at the Buckshot Bar and Gameroom!!

THIS IS AN A TO B which means we aren’t returning to the place we started so think about that in terms of transportation.

Recommended Clothing: I ordered sun as always but…well it is October so it could be glorious or well… wear layers

Recommended Food: None. Maybe small snack.

Cancellation Condition: If it rains sideways but even so we would just look for rainbows.

End-to-end of Golden Gate Park finishing at a Bonfire on the Beach (it’s all about balance and buffalo and beer and bonfire)

Hike Description:

We will meet at the Golden Gate Park entrance Haight/Stanyan (right across the street from Whole Foods). Hike through the park exploring Lily Pond, Dahlias!!! Stow Lake, Strawberry Hill, the top of the deYoung observatory, before proceeding to Middle Lake and BUFFALO til finally we will end at the Windmills of the Great Highway and the ocean. (You can take the N-Judah back to starting point). This is a one-way hike, however, join us for a Bonfire at the Beach. There is a Safeway near by to grab a snack and then we can bring the food and drinks back to the beach for a BONFIRE ON THE BEACH! (If it is a spare the air day we will go to the Beach Chalet Brewery for our after…

Recommended Clothing: As you know we will experience every microclimate possible…it’s the Golden Gate Park afterall! and September! It might be chilly when the sun goes down.

Recommended Food: We won’t stop for food until the end of the hike.

Hike It Up: Turns 4 so let’s visit 4 Peaks followed by pints at Beercade!

Hike Description:

It’s our 4-year anniversary…

We begin in Cole Valley on the corner of Parnassus and Willard Street.

Hike into Mt Sutro Forest (Peak #1 and find the fairy gates) cross Claredon Avenue to Twin Peaks Reservoir and Mt Sutro Tower toward top of Twin Peaks Summit (usually very windy but an amazing view of the entire city). We will hike both peaks of the Twins (Peak #2 & #3). We will then go down the long and winding road and visit Tank Hill Park (Peak #4). As a bonus we will check out Corona Heights Park (Peak #5 shhh) and then go to Beercade on Market Street to celebrate our awesomeness 4-ness!

This is an A-B think about that in terms of transporation.
